Thunivu, meaning "Fortitude," is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language action heist film written and directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar in the lead role, with supporting roles played by Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, Pavani Reddy, John Kokken, Mamathi Chari, Ajay, Veera, Bagavathi Perumal, Darshan, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran and Amir. 

The film was announced with the working title AK61, referencing it being Ajith Kumar's 61st film in a leading role, in February 2022, with the official title being revealed in September of that year. Principal photography began in April and wrapped in October, taking place in Hyderabad and Bangkok. Post-production work began in late October and was completed in December. 

Thunivu was released in theaters on January 11, 2023, during the Pongal holiday, and received mixed reviews from critics. The film has grossed 160 crore, making it the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.

The story revolves around a heist planned by Radha, a notorious gangster, and his men at "Your Bank," one of the largest privately-owned banks in Chennai, with the help of ACP Ramachandran. Their goal is to steal ₹500 crore on May 21st, coinciding with a party event at the governor's residence. 

However, on the day of the heist, Radha and his team discover that a mysterious person named "Michael Jackson" and his accomplice, Kanmani, have already taken over the bank. Michael Jackson defeats the commandos and makes a deal with Radha to help him steal ₹5000 crores, in exchange for a share of the money, which Radha and his team reluctantly agree to.

When Radha and his team find out that the bank locker contains ₹1510 crores, they decide to kill Michael Jackson, but he defeats them. Ramachandran attempts to negotiate with Michael Jackson, but he insists on speaking with Antony, a police constable. 

Ramachandran attempts to kill Michael Jackson with a sniper, but he escapes by causing an explosion in a nearby car using a bomb. The events are leaked to the media, and city commissioner Dayalan is brought in to handle the situation.

As the police trace a van where Kanmani is guiding Michael Jackson, Kanmani destroys the van and escapes. Ramachandran sends his men to trace Kanmani, but she kills them and exposes Ramachandran's involvement in the heist to Dayalan, who interrogates Ramachandran, who confesses that he, along with his childhood friend Shyam, the Tamil Nadu Branch Head of Your Bank, planned the heist. 

Ramachandran had hired Michael Jackson, also known as "Dark Devil," for the job, but he refused. He then hired Radha's gang without revealing that they would be killed after the heist.

As the story unfolds, other characters become involved, and it is revealed that the heist was planned by the bank's staff and the chairman of Your Bank, Krish, who also reveals that Dark Devil and his team had actually died a few months ago. 

The story ends with the capture of the bank officials and the reveal that the real goal of the heist was to steal money that was intended for the people who invested in mutual funds and were robbed by the bank officials.
